At Joe’s Produce Gourmet Market in Livonia, Michigan, APL delivered a targeted lighting upgrade that enhances both overall ambience and product presentation while respecting the character of this long-standing, family-run grocery destination.
Three existing 8″ downlights were replaced with LTwo® modular fixtures equipped with 60° optics, providing smooth, even general illumination with noticeably reduced glare. The result is a brighter, more comfortable shopping experience that supports wayfinding without overpowering the space.

To draw attention to the featured merchandise integrated into the central column, four additional LTwo® fixtures with 40° optics were installed to precisely highlight the lower display shelves. This layered lighting approach improves product visibility, contrast, and visual hierarchy—key elements in a gourmet retail environment.
One fixture required a creative solution due to the absence of a direct ceiling mounting point. Using the LTwo® Extension Rod accessory, a custom cantilever arm was implemented, demonstrating the flexibility of the LTwo® system to adapt to challenging architectural conditions without compromising design intent.

The lighting solution complements the values of Joe’s Produce Gourmet Market—freshness, craftsmanship, and attention to detail—by creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that supports both everyday shopping and specialty product discovery.

A subtle upgrade with a clear impact—where architectural lighting supports quality, tradition, and the customer experience.
