What is LTwo® and what are the USPs?

  • LTwo® is a highly innovative and disruptive light source with a modular character.
  • LTwo® is available in four different lamp holder types, mag netic, battery contact, pendant and M8 outdoor for a variety of different applications from general lighting to task lighting to outdoor architectural lighting. Please see images on page 4.
  • LTwo® is reminiscent of a T5 fluorescent tube, with a diameter of just 5/8 th of an inch (16.4 mm). Unlike the fluorescent tube, with a purely Lambertian lighting characteristic, LTwo® is available in 13 different high end architectural light distribution curves for optimal lighting control from decorative to demanding general lighting.
  • LTwo® delivers up to 5,600 lm at CRI > 92 and is offered in power packages from 1.8 W up to 35 W.
  • The manifold smart accessories define how to use LTwo in any application, indoor or outdoor. The accessories turn the lamp into the luminaire, while maintaining its Bauhaus design style.
  • LTwo® enables you to realize all kinds of lighting applications with existing accessories, future accessories, project-specific accessories developed by you, from decorative and accent lighting to task lighting, to sophisticated museum lighting or the illumination of e. g. concert halls and auditoriums.
  • LTwo® is compatible to all relevant lighting standards.
  • It can be integrated into all types of materials with our acces sories, adapted as a project-specific luminaire, combined with existing lighting technology components (e. g. High Voltage Tracks, Low Voltage (48 V) tracks) and used as an interchange able light source in our own luminaires (Lumami® Desk, Wall, Pendant, Ceiling, Track, Downlight).

4 looks and 2 colors

LTwo® comes in 4 basic looks and two colors. The looks a determined by the functional design of the optics/louver. Round louver: 10°, 13°, 25°, 40°, batwing narrow (BWN) and oval optic (13°x40°). Rectangular louver: 60° and batwing wide (BWW.) Asymmetric Louver: wallwash (WW). Round LTwo: clear, diffuse or opal cover.

The color of the housing and the anti glare are available in white and black. A white LTwo® comes with a white antiglare and a black LTwo® with a black antiglare. Other combinations and colors might be delivered on request depending on the volume.

Two operating modes (CC & CV)

LTwo® is available in Constant Current (CC) or Constant Voltage (CV). Constant Voltage provides more flexibility if more lamps are used on a single driver. It’s less efficient than CC and the drivers are more expensive. Constant current is more efficient than CV. The drivers are less expensive and available in more sizes and with more lighting control (smart) options. Maximum two lamps can be connected to one driver in CC mode. CC requires more wiring during installation.

n constant voltage (CV) two power levels are available, either 12W/m or 20W/m. The product can be dimmed with PWM. In constant urrent (CC) the procut has a rated power of 25/m @600mA drive current. It can be driven at higher currents for more lumen output, as long as a proper heat management is assured.

6 length & 18 power levels

LTwo® comes in length of 142mm (1/2ft), 282mm (1ft), 562mm (2ft), 842mm (3ft), 1120mm (4ft) and 1400mm (5ft). Depending on operating current and nominal power the output of the light source ranges from 1,8W / 240 lumen to 35W / 5600 lumen. 13 architectural lighting optics

The entire product range is offered with 13 different high performance architectural lighting optics, meeting the highest standards in uniformity, color over angle and glare control. The optics are available in 10° HB, 13° Spot, 25° narrow flood, 40° flood, 60° wide flood, 90° extra wide flood (coming soon), Batwing Narrow (BWN), Batwing Wide (BWW), Wall Wash (WW), a clear lens (max. efficiency) and a frosted and opal lens with lambertian characteristic.

With the offered lumen packages and optical range the LTwo® is suited for all kind of lighting applications.

5 CCTs and Tunable White

5 different lampholder concepts

The main and initial lamp holder of LTwo® is a magnetic holder (MAG). The product can easily be assembled, swivled +/-20° in the socket and be hold in place with a security lock. A pure mechanical lampholder (MCH) is currently in the design phase. A battery like lamp holder (BC)offers a very cost efficient solution for OEM designs. It comes as a pedant version (PD) with current carrying suspension wires. The M8 IP67 lampholder (M8) is used for the outdoor LTwo only.

In- and Outdoor (IP67)

The product comes in protection class IP20 (MAG, MCH, BC, PD) and as an outdoor version in IP67 (M8). Even in the outdoor version you can select from all available optics, which makes LTwo® a very unique and versatile product for outdoor lighting.

A battery like lamp holder (Battery) offers a very cost efficient solution for OEM designs.

As well LTwo® comes as a pedant version (PD) with current carrying suspension wires.
The M8 IP67 lampholder (M8) is used for the outdoor IP67 LTwo® only.

For optimum use in your project every lampholder version is complemented with a variety of highly functional accessories. The track system is optimized for LTwo® MAG and supports the easy installation of up to 20 m long tracks from one feed-in with only a few standard components.

LTwo® MAG

LTwo® – Light Tube with Optics. MAG – Magnetic Socket.
LTwo® MAG is based on the modular, miniaturized LTwo® light source/luminaire system with 13 high-quality precision optics and extensive accessories for all lighting applications, delivering up to 6400 lumens. LTwo® MAG contains the newly developed magnetic, multifunctional lamp/luminaire holder for easy, tool-free, magnetic installation and angle adjustment in +/-20° steps, as well as a locking function. It has a coded socket for safe operation of lamp luminaires with different operation modes in Constant Voltage or Constant Current. It’s environmentally friendly due to minimal use of material (180g/m), interchangeability, recyclability and high efficiency (up to 193 lm/W). Ideally suited for building and material integration as well as the construction of luminaires or use with a wide range of accessories from apl.

The “LTwo® magnetic lamp holder” is required to operate the LTwo®. Select the “PIT block” variant to connect the lamp holder to the ballast with its own cable. If you prefer a plug-in solution, then select the “JST” variant. To connect this variant to the ballast, the “3-pole cable set with JST” is required. Alternatively, you can choose a pre-wired ballast, in which the cable set is already permanently connected to the ballast. There are a wide range of accessories for mounting the lamp holder. Please refer to our accessories catalog. The accessories are optimized to realize your own lighting project and to easily integrate the LTwo® into all types of materials or the building.

LTwo® OUTDOOR – Light Tube with Optics, IP67 for Outdoor Use
